Rob Phelps

Robert "Rob" Phelps, 71, of Nederland, died Sunday, September 30, 2012. He was born on July 12, 1941, in Beaumont, to Ollie Mae Chapman Phelps and R.Z. Phelps, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Rob was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as a supervisor for Gulf States Electric, before retirement. Rob enjoyed spending time with friends and fishing, and loved his family more than anything. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Meaux and her husband, Aaron; and son, Trent Phelps and his wife, Chanda, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Cade, Robert, Alyssa, Kory, Hayden, Tori, Ava, Taryn, Austyn, and Abby; mother, Ollie Phelps; and sister, Susan Phelps, both of Nederland. Rob is preceded in death by his father; wife, Faye Phelps; son, Greg Phelps. A gathering of Mr. Phelps' family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
