Ray P. Thompson, 85, of Vidor died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, Ray was a longtime resident of Vidor, and was a Safety & Health Supervisor with Gulf States Utilities Company. Ray served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII, and in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Vidor Church of Christ in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Ray was preceded in death by his sister Joline Van Norstrand. Ray is survived by his wife Sunnye Thompson, son Mark Thompson and wife Cyndi all of Vidor, daughters Darline Lee and husband John of Beaumont, and Terri Odom of Dallas, sister Dianne Nevils of Vidor, seven grandchildren: Julie Ann Dailey, Laurie Perozzo, Amanda Augustine, Trey Odom, Tyler Odom, Casey McIntyre, Darla Brown, and eight great grandchildren: Season Dailey, Colton Dailey, Sara Farshad, Cameron Augustine, Braxson Milsap, Josie White, Cade McIntyre, Brett McIntyre, the family would like to say a special thank you to Texas Total Hospice Nurses: Barbara and Donna.
