Autholine H. “Breezy” Cross, 88, of Bevil Oaks, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on August 1, 1925, to Leila Maude Harwell and Benjamin J. Harwell in Nashville, Arkansas. Before moving to Beaumont, she was a resident of Silsbee for eighteen years and worked at Kirby Forest Industries. Breezy retired as a secretary from Gulf States Utilities. She was a great wife, mother, Christian, and citizen. Along with those qualities instilled in her, she was a hard worker, great neighbor, and wonderful woman. Breezy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her children, John W. Clawson, and his wife, Bobby Jo, of Rockford, Illinois; Anita L. Clawson of Homer, Louisiana; Lisa Clawson Morgan of Beaumont; Brenda Bruno and her husband, Craig, of Lumberton; and Jerry Cross of Beaumont; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, and cousins, who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon M. Cross; daughter, Gloria L. Barrow; son, Mike Cross; and two brothers, Billy and Morris Harwell.

A gathering of Mrs. Cross’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
