JANICE (JAN) RUTH MASTERS KOENIG, 52, of Conroe, TX passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2014 in Houston, Texas after her courageous battle with Leukemia. Jan was a very loving, considerate, compassionate, wife, mother, and a best friend to all of those who knew her. Throughout her battle, she was always thinking of others before herself.

Jan was born in New Orleans, LA, on August 8, 1961, and was adopted by her loving parents, Kenneth and Ruth Masters. She lived in Houma, LA as an infant, spent her early years in Covington, LA and moved to Conroe, TX in 1971. During her school years, she was a member of the swim team and played the saxophone. Jan graduated from Conroe High School in 1979, attended Stephen F. Austin State University and later received her Medical Billing Certification. She married Marcus Koenig on August 23, 1980. Early in her career, she worked for Gulf States Utilities Company, Goodman Manufacturing and later worked in their family-owned business, Cubeco, Inc. Jan enjoyed numerous crafts including scrapbooking, quilting, and cross-stitching. She was always the first to send out holiday cards, which she hand-made as well. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Marcus W. Koenig and their 2 sons, Ricky Koenig and wife Belinda of Magnolia, TX and Mathew Koenig and wife Heather of Montgomery, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jazzmyn, Jade, Keltcy, Kaden, Cole, Wyat and Levi. In addition, she is survived by her parents Kenneth and Ruth Masters of Conroe, TX and her brother, Keith Masters and wife Beverly of Austin, TX, many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and an endless number of people she touched throughout her life.

A special thank you goes out to those who were there throughout her two-year fight with Leukemia. Jan will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her.
