Ms. Tommye June Dumas Die, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 28th, 2015, at the age of 86.

Tommye was born to James Houston Dumas and Ava Bea Lemon Dumas on March 1, 1929, in Lubbock, TX. She was the seventh of nine children. She is survived by her brother, Dan Dumas, of Bridge City, Texas; her sister, Judy McCullough, of Dallas, Texas; and her sister Avonne Dumas, of San Marcos.

Tommye attended West Orange Stark High School in Orange, Texas. In 1951, she married Joseph Carrell Die of Beaumont, Texas. Together they had five daughters, Debra Talbert of Clinton, Louisiana, husband Ken Talbert; Pamela Gravis of San Marcos, Texas, and husband, Kearney Gravis; Ava Purkey of San Marcos; Amy Ubernosky of San Antonio; and Melanie Die of Canyon Lake. Tommye had seven grandchildren: Celeste Hollister, of San Marcos; Christopher Gravis, of Vidor; Amber Ubernosky, of San Marcos; Jason Ubernosky of San Marcos; John Michael Ubernosky, of San Marcos; Adrian Die, of Canyon Lake; Savannah Die, of Canyon Lake; and five great-grandchildren: Katrina Hollister, of San Marcos; Elliot Gravis, of Vidor; Allison and Marian Corley, of San Marcos; and Cora Gravis, of Vidor.

Tommye worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and as a bookkeeper and general manager for several businesses with her husband. She retired from Entergy, a utility company in East Texas, and followed her children to San Marcos in 1998.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Thomason's Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road 12, in San Marcos, on Saturday, March 7th, 2015. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3 p.m.
