Ernest Ray Laminack, Jr, 78, was promoted to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Ray fought a valiant, 7-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia, and died peacefully at his home.

Ray was the son of E Ray Laminack, Sr. and Mattie Fern Kirby of Beaumont, Texas. Ray spent his early years in Beaumont, then moved to New Jersey with his Dad and Mom to complete high school. He received his Geophysics degree at the Oklahoma of University, and taught Math in Norman, OK from 1963-1966. During 1966-1969, he moved back to Texas and taught Math in the Port Neches school district. From 1969  1973, he worked at Temple Inland, then was employed by Gulf States Utilities from 1973  1982. He returned to Temple Inland as a Process Control Manager from 1982-1996 and retired from there. From 1998-1999, he was employed by Temple Inland/Diboll as a contractor for the Y2K project. From 2000  2009, he began his most enjoyable career --full time employment on the Laminack compound!

He is survived by his devoted wife of 28.5 years, Bridget Griffith Laminack of Lumberton,TX; a son E Ray Laminack III of Wyoming; grandson E Ray Laminack IV of Arizona; his mother-in-law Merle Griffith; sisters-in-law Charlene Griffith of Dallas, TX and Darlene Haycraft and husband Tom of College Station, TX and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marian Riley, of New Jersey.

A celebration of Ray s life is being held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2pm at Crestwood Baptist Chapel 1150 US Hwy 69 South, Kountze, Texas 77625. The visitation for family and friends is scheduled prior to service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Alzheimer s Association, Beaumont, Texas (www.alztex.org/form/donateform.asp) or the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda@lbda.org.

Bridget and  Merlie wish to thank the Jefferson County Home Health Care and its workers as well as the Professional Health Care Hospice and its workers for their attention and compassion to Ray for approximately 3 years. A very special note of love & appreciation is extended to Ray s  special angels (his caregivers): Zelda Kelly, Amber Marzilli, Janie Dancer, Sue Semien, Jessica Ford and Priscella Isedore!
