Thomas Ivy Gore, 63, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, April 03, 2016 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Gore was born in Portsmouth, VA and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He retired a Superintendant of Transportation after 39 years of service with Entergy. Mr. Gore was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, golfing, working in the yard and wood working. His greatest time was shared with his family, particularly, "spoiling" grandchildren.

He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of forty four years, Deborah Guillory Gore of Lake Charles; three children, Chantel Brown and husband Travis of Elon, NC, Michael Keith Gore and wife Hope of Iowa and Thomas Kyle Gore and wife Sandra of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Falynn, Dustin, Gavin, Landon, Talen, Breanna and Brayden; mother, Iva Lou Chustz and three sisters, Laura Brazell, Emily Myers and Virginia Kuiper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Thomas Gore, Jr. and step-father, Henry Chustz.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 06, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Charlie Langford will officiate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home. Inurnment at Highland Memory Gardens will be at a later date.

The family of Mr. Gore wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Broussard and staff, staff of 2 tower Oncology of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Dr. Peter Karam and the staff of Harbor Hospice and the staff of M.D. Anderson for their excellence in care and compassion throughout their journey.
