Danita Harper McCaig, 78, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care, Nederland, Texas. She was born on August 13, 1937, in Merryville, Louisiana, to Glennell Alford and Joe Meadows. Danita was a retired clerk for Gulf States Utilities. She enjoyed spending her days sewing and tending to her flower garden.

Survivors include her sister, Naomi Cowgill and her husband, Jimmy; brother, Isaac Meadows and his wife, Phyllis; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Frank Harper and Mac McCaig.

A gathering of Danita's family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Merryville Cemetery, County Road 110, Merryville, Louisiana.
