Margaret Drury Lewis Sternberger, a native of Hunter, AR and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and Hammond, LA, passed away on February 18, 2017, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice, at the age of 95. She was a wonderful lady, loved by all and a loving child of God. She was a member of the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ.

As a young woman, she worked for Gulf States Utilities and retired from the EBR Parish School Board. She loved to play bridge and canasta and had been a member of the PEO Chapter, Garden Club, Lionesses and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Margaret is survived by seven grandchildren, Josh Lewis and wife, Yoko (Osaka, Japan), Trent Lewis (Baton Rouge, LA), Lindsay L. Thomas (Nashville, TN), Arthur Cullen Lewis IV (San Diego, CA), Chandler Lewis (Austin, TX), Whitney Lewis (Austin, TX), Cameron Lewis (New Orleans, LA); her son-in-law, Arthur Cullen Lewis III "Bubba"; two precious great-grandchildren, Arthur Cullen Lewis V "Ace" (San Diego, CA) and Eleanor Thomas (Nashville, TN) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, Eula Mae Below Drury (Baton Rouge, LA); her father, John F. Drury (Clay, KY); her first husband, Dr. Frank E. Lewis II; her second husband, Ivy Sternberger; two children, Frank E. Lewis II and Peggy Lewis; two brothers, Francis Drury and Joe L. Drury and three sisters, Ernestine D. Chollette, Georgia D. Crouse and Emma D. Behrens, all of Baton Rouge, LA.

Visitation will be held on February 22, 2017, at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, from 9:00AM until time of funeral service at 10:00AM.
