Lloyd "Wayne" Suarez, 62, of Sulphur, La, died on Dec. 21, 2020. He was born on Aug. 31, 1958, in Biloxi, Mi, to Lloyd Wayne Catchot and Katherine Butler.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Penny, daughters Kimberly Unkel (Jesse) and Stephanie Deville (Spencer), mother Katherine, and his two grand-dogs Luna and Rosie.

He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Wayne Catchot and his adoptive father Shannon Suarez.

He is also survived by sister Kristi Sanner (Charlie) and brothers Bryant "Bear" Suarez and Shannon "Cubby" Suarez. Additional surviving family members include his brother-in-Law Rick Young (Janelle) and sister-in-law Jeanie Watkins (Mickey), as well as nieces and nephews and their adoring children who knew there would always be plenty of fun mischief when Uncle Dodo came for a visit.

Living most of his life in Louisiana, Wayne was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers and, oddly enough, the Oakland Raiders. In 2019, Wayne fulfilled a lifelong dream of watching his beloved "Raadahs" play a game in their final season at the Oakland Alameda Coliseum and was planning to catch a game of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Wayne enjoyed playing sports and played quarterback for the Sulphur Tors under the tutelage of his father Shannon.

Wayne started his career as a lineman for GSU (now Entergy) and continued growing with the company for the rest of his years. It was his only full-time job and he took early retirement in June 2015. Since that time, he has worked for EDG Inc.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Father Edward Richard, M.S., V.F., Father Michael Caraway, and Father Paul Jussen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Salvation Army of Lake Charles. Cremation is under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
