Joseph A. Bossom, Sr., born on July 25, 1934, passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 89. He was surrounded at the time of his death by family, while at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, TX.

Joseph was born in Woodside, LA, to Jim and Alberta Bossom of White Castle, LA, and Woodside, LA. He graduated from Shady Grove High School. He then went on to join the United States Army for a 3 year voluntary enlistment stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. He continued on to work in the meter department for Gulf States Utilities, elevating to a supervisor. GSU was eventually merged with Entergy, from whom he retired as a supervisor in their garage department in 1994.

A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a devoted friend and fiercely loyal to his loved ones. He was a faithful servant to God.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Kay Tillman (Kelly); sons, Joseph "Joey" Bossom (Robyn), and Dwayne Bossom (Jamie); sister, Jane Steele (Jerry); brother, John Bossom (Betty); grandchildren, Ainsley Bossom, Ashley Jarreau (Cameron), Kaleb Tillman, Kelly Tillman, Jr., Madeline Buckles, Elizabeth Buckles, and Catherine Buckles, James Saia (Kristen), and Allison Sandoz (Phillip),; great-grandchildren, Allie, Avery, Jensen, and Leigha; and previous wife, Virginia Bossom.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie "Tootie" Firmin; and grandchild, Amberly Taylor Bossom.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
