Clarence L. “Junior” Griffin of Hot Springs, AR was born February 24, 1929 in Goose Creek, Texas, the son of William Clarence and Edyth Compton Griffin. He was a member of Diamondhead Community Church of Hot Springs. He always sat on the second pew, left side. Junior served in the United States Army, Korean War, as Sgt. 1st Class. He made his career as an electrician with Gulf States Utilities in Conroe, Texas, where he retired in June 1986. Mr. Griffin died peacefully at his home in Hot Springs on Sunday, December 27,20099 at the age of 80.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James “Ed” DeMoss. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hudspeth Griffin, whom he married October 2, 1971, of the home. Sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Susan Hudspeth of Richardson, Texas; Wayne and Elvira Hudspeth of Conroe, Texas; daughters, Brenda Griffin of Cleveland, Texas, Sherri Hudspeth of Washington, D.C, Marilyn DeMoss of Sheridan. Sisters, Doris and Byron Hines of Livingston, Texas, Mary Nell Bridges of Fort Worth, Texas; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. One son of Dayton, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at the Diamondhead Community Church on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to this church at Hwy. 171, Box 140, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
