Gene Mullin
Gene was a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and lived in Sulphur since 1969. He graduated with a masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He loved fishing and football. He served as a football official for high schools and for McNeese State University. Gene was very active politically, campaigning at all levels. He was a member of the Southland Field Airport Board, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Board of Economic Developement for Sulphur and Lake Charles, and the Burton Coliseum Board.
He retired from Gulf States Utilities after more than 40 years. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Mullin of Baton Rouge. He is preceded in death by his wife Faye Mullin.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 23. at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. A private burial will be on Thursday in Texas. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
