Funeral services to celebrate the life of Charles McCloy DeCuir will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with John Helbig officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm at Hogan Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Charles was born January 16, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Charles and Ferna DeCuir and passed away, December 14, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Charles served our country in the United States Coast Guard.

He worked for Gulf States Utilities as a marketing director for over 40 years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ferna; by his father-in-law, Calvin Oates and by his nephew, Mark Oates. Left behind to treasure his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Linda DeCuir of Conroe, TX; daughter, Chrissy DeCuir of Houston, TX; mother-in-law, Edith Oates of Conroe, TX; sister, Alice Richter and husband Ronald of College Station, TX; brother-in-law, Charles Edwin Oates and wife Kay of Silsbee, TX; nieces, Laura Richter of College Station, TX, Lori Moore Allen of Austin, TX and Mary Kay Millings of Austin, TX; nephews, Charles F. "Rick" Richter of Tavernier, FL, Brad Oates of Atlanta, GA, Mike Oates and wife Pam of Kirbyville, TX and Cory Moore of Austin, TX. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
