David E. Lewis, 76, of Moss Bluff passed away Saturday December 21, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 20, 1937 in Roanoke, La to John G. and Ruby Elaine Wilkinson Lewis. Following graduation from Roanoke High School, David honorably served our country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany at the time of the Berlin wall construction. He retired after 36 years of service with Gulf States Utilities. He enjoyed working with wood and attending bluegrass festivals throughout the country.

Preceding David in death are his parents, sister, Alma Lou Blanchard and brother Lloyd G. Lewis. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara Duff Lewis, daughter, Jody Farnum and husband Tim; son, Shawn G. Lewis and wife Amanda; brother, Jimmy Lewis; sisters, Nelda Coffman and Shirley Barras and husband Butch; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at the Moss Bluff United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday January 11, 2014.
