Funeral services for Michael John Laborde, 61, formerly of Hessmer resident of Gonzales, LA will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 beginning at 10am at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mansura, LA with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 beginning at 5 pm until 10 pm at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura and will reopen at 8 am Wednesday morning. Entombment will be held at St. Paul Mausoleum in Mansura, LA.

Michael John Laborde passed away at his home in Gonzales on Saturday morning, July 30, 2016. Mike married the love of his life, Victoria & shared his unconditional love for her for 43 years. He was the proud recipient of an electrical engineering degree from LSU. He had an envious career working for Gulf States Utility & Entergy. He was often called upon by his peers to make tough decisive actions and be a leader which would affect the many lives he touched with his kind words. He provided problem solving skills, knowledge, wisdom, dignity, guidance, honor, & unconditional love to every person he crossed paths with. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting, spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and watching the Tigers & Saints bring home a victory. He left no stone unturned & knew no stranger. He will be cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, family, friends, & colleagues until we see him again in God's Kingdom.

He was preceded in his death by parents, Dave, Sr. & Marion Laborde.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Victoria (Deshotel) Laborde of Gonzales;son, Ashley Laborde (Kara) of Prairieville; daughter, Erin (Laborde) Jennings (Jeffrey) of Gonzales; five grandchildren, Briana Baker, Zane Laborde, Madilyn Jennings, Raden Laborde, & Ethan Jennings; brothers, Dave Laborde, Jr. of Turkey Creek, Paul Laborde (Rainie) of Hessmer; sister, Simone Wise of Metairie.
