Olice Alton Steward, 81, having lived an eventful life filled with great memories, went to be with our lord Jesus Christ peacefully at his home in Kerrville, Texas, on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, after a short illness.

All pain has been replaced with a new body as he now shares a home in heaven with those loved ones preceding him in death: Father and mother, William and Dollie Steward; brothers, Winfred and Charles Steward; and sister, Bobbie Garland.

He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 60 years, Gail Wood Steward; beloved son, Randall Olice Steward of Lago Vista, Texas; sister, Audrene Territo of Corsicana, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Mary Wood of Billings, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Olice was born in Cayuga, Texas, on Aug. 11, 1935. He grew up in Corsicana, Texas, graduated from Corsicana High School and completed his studies at Lamar University, receiving a BBA in industrial management in l962 after serving two years in the U.S. Army, with one year at the 8th Army Headquarters in Seoul, Korea.

He joined Gulf States Utilities Company in Beaumont, Texas, in the corporate finance department in June 1962. Of his 33-year career with Gulf States, more than 25 years were as corporate risk manager.

Upon retirement in 1994, Olice and his wife moved to Kerrville, built a home and enjoyed the beautiful Hill Country, where he spent many happy hours playing golf at Riverhill Country Club.

His love of family and friends was immense and unyielding. His love of life was addicting. He was actively involved in the community and was never too busy to lend a helping hand or encouraging word.

No services will be conducted, although a private celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
