C.A. Estes, 91, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on, February 11, 2017 in Brenham, Texas.

C.A. was born in Merryville, Louisiana on October 12, 1925, the son of Horace Virgil Estes and Virgie Wingate Estes. He moved with his family to Call, Texas in 1932 and attended elementary school in Call, and was a graduate of Kirbyville High School.

C.A. was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy from August, 1943 to May, 1946. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Frazier DD607 as a Fireman First Class and as an Electrician Mate Third Class. The Frazier was in Destroyer Squadron Fourteen in the Pacific Theater. He was proud to have served as a member of the Frazier crew.

He was employed by Gulf States Utility Company for thirty-nine years in the Transmission and Distribution Department. The last sixteen years of employment, he was the Western Division Meter and Service Supervisor.

He was an avid Bass Fisherman and spent many weekends and vacations with his family, fishing lakes and streams in East, Texas and Northwest Louisiana.

Preceded in death by his parents and wife of 54 years, Mary Dupuy Estes, a student in the Cadet Nurse Corp. who he met while serving in World War II,

C.A. is survived by son; Fred Estes and wife Carol of Brenham, and daughter; Katherine Neumann and husband Dan of Conroe, grandchildren; Karen Bosquez, Jamie Estes Emerton, Jody Estes, Crystal Winkler, and Leslie Mills, and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Jody Estes, Coulter Baxter, Trace Emerton, Aiden Emerton, Jeremiah Johnson, and Christopher Bosquez. Honorary Pallbearers: Floyd Helton, William Norwood, Roy Haarmeyer, Warren Watson, and Mike Newman.

Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Graveside service for C.A. Estes will be held at Garden Park Cemetery on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00am.
