Gloria Slayton Hebert, 81, of Moss Bluff, LA passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 in her home. Gloria was born in Alexandria, LA on April 14, 1936 to Willie and Odessel Slayton.

Gloria was described as a force of nature, a beautiful lady both inside and out. She was an extremely giving person, always offering kind words and a beautiful smile to all. She enjoyed working in her yard, and loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She also adored Dixie, her beloved Boston Terrier.

Mrs. Hebert worked for Gulf States Utilities for 32 years before retiring 24 years ago, sharing her time with the love of her life, husband John Hebert. They were married for 62 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Bill Lampirez, who she loved like a son.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, and her daughter Myra Glover and her husband Rodney, of The Woodlands, TX. She also leaves two granddaughters, Kelly Castello of Houston, TX and Rachel Crittenden and husband David of Conroe, TX along with their daughter Blakely. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Wiesenberger.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday December 2, 2017 from 11AM-1PM. A memorial service with begin at 1PM at the funeral home, officiated by Father Albert Borel. Gloria has donated her body to medicine.
