Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Jules Catholic Church for Mr. John L. Hollier, 87, who passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 surrounded by his family. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, JCL, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Gift bearers will be Aimee and Jake Stutes. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum.

Mr. John, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Arthur Hollier and the former Celima Lalonde. Mr. John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he earned a Purple Heart.

He was employed for 39 years at Entergy (formerly Gulf States Utilities). In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family and fishing. He was a great father to his six children and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Marks Hollier; children, David Hollier and wife Jill, Annette Guichard and husband Joel, Jean Hollier, James Hollier and wife Rebecca, Maude Lightcap and husband Douglas; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Albert Hollier and wife Flo, Lucy Lalonde; and son-in-law, David Crouch and his wife Susie. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Loretta Crouch; parents, Arthur and Celima Hollier; and siblings, Pierre Hollier, Alice Bauer, Lillie Bauer, Mitchell Hollier and Anthony Hollier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Casey Hollier, Chad and Brady Crouch, Adam and Nicholas Guichard and Stephen Lightcap.
