Dennis Lynn Pitman of Albany, Louisiana passed away on Monday August 15, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born on June 29th, 1946 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

He graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1964, and Lamar University in 1968 with a degree in Marketing, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. After college he was drafted into the Army and served honorably in Vietnam.

He retired from Gulf States/Entergy New Orleans just shy of 40 years of service. After his retirement he enjoyed fishing with his son Travis, trips to Gulfport with his wife Peggy, traveling to Monroe to visit his daughter Stacie, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Merton and Geneva Pitman of Groves, Texas.

He is survived by his spouse of 50 years Peggy McClanahan Pitman of Albany, LA, his beloved pup Molly Francis, his daughter- Stacie Pitman Stewart and husband Steven of Monroe, LA, his son  Travis Pitman of Albany, LA and his grandchildren  Tyler Stewart and wife Skyler of Hammond, LA, Todd Stewart of Monroe, LA, Madelene-Grace Stewart of Monroe, LA and Travis Pitman, Jr. of Albany, La. He also leaves behind his siblings  Brenda Valdes and husband Luis, Kent Pitman and wife Carla, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to thank the palliative care team of the Azalea House VA hospital New Orleans, as well as nurses Chelsey (ICU) and Lorraine (hospice) for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life at St Paul s United Methodist Church, 1901 Lexington Avenue, Monroe LA on Saturday August 27th at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am until the time of service, in the church parlor.
