Ray Long, 87 of Beaumont died Saturday, September 24th, 2022 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Grayson County, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor, before moving to Beaumont 3 years ago.

Ray was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor. He graduated from Whilesboro High School where he lettered in basketball, football and baseball. He served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Austin College on a basketball scholarship. Ray was retired from Gulf States/ Entergy and enjoyed deer hunting.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the funeral will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years Miron Long of Beaumont, TX, children Karen Smithson and her husband Edward of Coldspring, TX, Kenneth Long and his wife Sherri of Mont Belvieu, TX, 4 grandchildren Rachel Smithson Wood and her husband Joseph, Kent Smithson and his wife Amanda, Allison Bolgiano and her husband Monte, Grayson Ray Hays Long and his wife Eden, 7 great grandchildren Lucy Smithson, Elliotte Smithson, Sloane Long, Hatcher and Jack Bolgiano, Charlotte Wood and Beckett Long.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Vidor Elder Care Fund.
