Arthur Clifton "Cliff" Morrison Jr., 72, passed from this life on Thursday, October 3, 2019. He was born on July 20, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas to Arthur Clifton Morrison Sr and Audrey George Morrison.

A simple, generous man, Cliff patiently approached many of life's circumstances. His charitable nature was unmitigated, doing anything for his friends and, if the need was there, even more for strangers. After graduation from French High School in 1965, he held a few jobs before finding his longtime career as a lineman for Gulf States Utilities, later known as Entergy. Cliff worked hard; always giving his best, he could accomplish most anything. Though above all else the focus of his heart, and proudest charge in life, was being a dad. His pride and joy were his family, and he always put their needs before his. Life challenged him as a single dad of three children, but he invested in them, encouraged them, and loved them. He raised them as best as he could. While unconventional at times, he was the coolest of dads, teaching his kids to live life to the fullest. They were no doubt his happiest achievement, and the joy they brought him was unmatched when he became a "Pawpaw", pouring himself and his love into them. As a member of IBEW Local #2286 and during his 31-year career as lineman, he formed many lasting friendships, and was well-known among his peers by his unique nickname "Hungry". His work and family life provided a platform for him to utilize his unique sense of humor. What Cliff thought was funny may have puzzled others, he would often get tickled after playing a trick or responding with a silly quip. Discerning his feelings about others was not difficult. If he loved you, you knew it and felt it without a word from him, but if he did not like you, it was known and felt. In truth, he had a heart for almost everyone around him. Many days were spent on his hunting trips to a deer camp in Colmesneil, where he had helped convert an old school bus into a fully outfitted camper, complete with a stove and running water. Cliff loved to read and consumed volumes within days. It was often thought that he hunted just so he could sit in a deer stand and read peacefully, because he rarely shot at anything. Rare in many ways, his down to earth personality and patient way of living indelibly marked the hearts of his loved ones. Though he is gone, his family, the most prized of his possessions, will forever miss his unforgettable pranks, unmatched generosity and unconditional love.

Left to honor his memory is his mother, Audrey Morrison of Temple, TX; daughter, Melinda Morrison Nelson and husband, Mark, of Beaumont, TX; sons, Jeff Morrison of Vidor, TX and J.C. Morrison and wife, Missy, of Augusta KS; brother, Glen Morrison and wife, Beth, of Temple, TX; grandchildren, Hunter Wilson and wife, Rikki, of Mansfield, TX, Chase Wilson of Fannett, TX, Kaylee Morrison of Vidor, TX, Madison Morrison of Vidor, TX, Rayne Morrison, Maegan Morrison and Connor Spence, all of Augusta, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding Cliff in death is his father; paternal grandparents, Newt Bruce and Laura Cruthirds Morrison; and maternal grandparents, Wallace L. and Lola Allison George.

Visitation with family and friends will be at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, Monday, October 14, 2019, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX. Cliff's life honoring service will follow at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.

They are some of the most loving, caring people they have ever met and took the best care of their dad over the last several months. They also like to thank the caring staff at Trinity Hospice, who helped make this transition easier on not only him, but his family.
