Dewey Irving Lytle went home to be with his Savior & Lord Jesus Christ on Friday evening, April 7, 2023, in Beaumont, TX, just a few days prior to his 90th birthday. He was born April 25, 1933, in St. Louis, OK, to parents Harvy Allan Lytle and Orpha Mae VanOsdol Lytle. He made his profession of faith as a teenager at the First Baptist Church in Maud, OK.

He grew up in Maud, OK, and graduated from Maud High School in 1951. He joined the U. S. Navy and served 5 years in the Underwater Demolition Team UDT as "Frog Man" (which is predecessor to the Navy Seals). He served all over the globe with most of his time in the Mediterranean, Black, and Baltic Seas.

In 1955 he attended East Central State College in Ada, OK, for two years, then transferred to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1959. He worked six months at Union Electric Company in St. Louis, MO. In December 1959 he began his career with Gulf States Utilities Company in Beaumont, Texas, and retired in 1994. He worked in the Beaumont, TX, Lake Charles, LA, and Baton Rouge, LA, Divisions in addition to System Engineering and System Operations.

Dewey attended the Methodist Church in Beaumont, TX, and participated in the worship music singing and playing guitar, banjo, and ukulele in the group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing at his camps at Toledo Bend near Many, LA, and Spring Hill, TX, and making jewelry and working with carpentry. He was active in community services with the Lions Club. He is a Mason since 1967.

Dewey is survived by his wife of 32 years Sharon Kay Reinhardt Lytle, the mother of his children Laura Lea Morris Lytle, son Dennis Andrè Lytle and wife, Ramona, daughter-in-law Amy Rackley Lytle, daughter Kimberly Denise Manning and husband Michael, son Brian Christopher Lytle Sr. and wife Heather, grandchildren Lindsey March and husband Drew, Megan Daigle and husband Ben, Laura Beck and husband Jacob, Jeffrey Lytle, Sierra Lytle and fiancè Daryl Daigle, Scott "Deuce" Weber II, Katelynn Lytle, and Brian Lytle Jr., great grandchildren Brayden, Connor, & Tyler March and Zoe, Aubrey, & Ethan Daigle, many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents Harvy & Orpha Lytle, sister Naomi Lytle Jones, nine Lytle brothers - (Lewis, Gerald, Robert, Owen, Vernon, Eldon, David, Charles, Roland), Dewey was also preceded in death by his son James Thomas Lytle and great granddaughter Tillie May Lytle, two step-daughters Laura Jean Chenel Utsch and Debra Lee Chenel Trevor.

Celebration of Life and Interment ceremonies will be in Baton Rouge, LA, and will be announced in the coming weeks.
