Funeral services will be held at an 2:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice for Jeffery P. Derouen, 70, who passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at his residence.

Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services.

Entombment will take place at St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.

Readings for the Mass will be read by his granddaughters, Malori Meaux, Jeane Derouen, and Megan Savoy. Musical selections will be provided by his nephew, Jimmy Hebert.

Mr. Derouen was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus; retired with Gulf States Utilities with 38 years of service; was also retired from the Vermilion Parish School Board where he served as a past president and member of the board with 22 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Louise Roy Derouen; one daughter, Roxane Derouen Meaux of Meaux, LA; three sons, Harvey Derouen of Abbeville, LA, Kip Derouen of Maurice, La, and Clay Derouen of Meaux; LA, eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Verna Hebert of Lafayette, LA, Belinda Harrington of Texas, and Tammy Hebert of Maurice, LA; and two brothers, Curvis Derouen of Abbeville, LA, and John Harry Broussard of Maurice, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adras Derouen and Lelias Touchet.

Visiting hours were observed on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of service.

A rosary was recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday in the Maurice funeral home by Mr. Daniel Broussard.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Jeremy Meaux, Trentt Meaux, Brodie Meaux, Caleb Derouen, Oliver Derouen, Peyton Derouen, Cooper Derouen, Clint Savoy, Alex Suire.
