On July 6, 2024, Robert Raymond Tunstall, Sr. of Silverhill, AL went home to be with his Heavenly Father after a brief fight with cancer. He was at home surrounded by his family at his bedside at the time of his passing.

Bob was born on September 23, 1945 to Peyton Alexander Tunstall and Mary Bell Lowery Tunstall.

Bob was retired from the nuclear industry after 30 years. In his retirement, Bob loved spending time in Buras, LA at the fishing camp going fishing with family, friends, and neighbors. Then sitting on the porch regaling his guests with stories (some true, some sketchy). He also loved gardening and playing golf.

Bob was an 18-year member of AA and leaves many friends behind from these years.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Katherine Tunstall, a son, Robert Raymond Tunstall Jr., a granddaughter, Makenna Raye Tunstall, his parents, brothers; William and Alexander, sister, Sarah Jane and grandparents William Peyton Tunstall and Mary Virgina Girby Tunstall.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bobbie Jean, children: Julia (Doug) Howell, Rebecca Prestage, Peyton Tunstall and Andrea Barton. Grandchildren: Miranda Rogers, Tabitha Kibby, Meggan (Steven) Gabbard, Alex Kibby, Daniel (Roxane) Howell. Allyson Tunstall, Austin Tunstall, and Aiden Tunstall. Brooke (Kenny) Albert, Briana (Branson) Sartin, and Darian Tunstall. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, Sisters Mary Anderson and Becky Parks and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Morrison officiating. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
