Bob Summers
Robert “Bob” Summers, 82, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Bob spent his younger years growing up in Franklin, Indiana. Bob resided in the Beaumont area since 1948 and was a retired claims director with Gulf States Utilities after forty-two years of service. For eight of those years he served as a business agent for the Independent Electrical Workers Union. He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran having served in World War II.

Survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Barbara Summers of Beaumont; daughters, Linda Dixon and Connie Davis both of Beaumont; step-daughter, Cindy Williams and her husband Stephen of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Kathy Sutton and her husband Joe of Beaumont, Stephanie Thompson and her husband Craig of Lufkin, Robert Woodrow and his wife Anja of Germany, Chris Davis and his wife Tiffany of Tomball and Regina Pellegrin and her husband James of Beaumont; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Maryellen Kindley of Coarsegold, California.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Mortuary.
