Mr. Albert J. Boudreaux, 86, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2017 in a local care center.

A J was born on May 28, 1930 in Abbeville, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Maurice High School, served in the US Army and retired from Gulf States Utilities after 39 years of service. He was married to his late wife Lorraine Beaux Boudreaux on December 24, 1951 and was happily married for 62 years. He resided with his family in Westlake LA. They were members of St. John Bosco Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, parents Oleus and Pola (Mouton) Boudreaux; his sisters Florence Ellis, Ola Leblanc and Isabell Pontiff, his brother, R. A. Boudreaux and his grandchildren Ryan Taylor Boudreaux and Adam Paul Boudreaux.

He is survived by his brother Robert (Jack) Boudreaux of Lafayette, children Bryan and Charlotte Boudreaux, Charlie and Sheila Boudreaux, Al and Theresa Boudreaux, Chris and Sheryl Boudreaux, Rusty and Stephanie Boudreaux, and Jennifer Boudreaux and Dave Peacock; grandchildren Tristan Spell, Shane and Karen Boudreaux, Jessica and Scottie Spell, Bryan and Tori Boudreaux, Lacy and Jacob Williams, Scott Boudreaux, Lindsay Boudreaux, Alex Boudreaux, Cannon Boudreaux, Robert Boudreaux, Abigail Boudreaux, and Sam Boudreaux; great grandchildren: Brant Morton, Kaylee and Hannah Stine, Daylan Arabie, Cydney Williams, Grace Boudreaux, Ava Williams, Aiden Arabie, Oliver Crump, Brody Boudreaux, Lane Boudreaux, Brylee Boudreaux, Tatum Floyd, Jaxsen Boudreaux and Everett Adam Boudreaux; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver Tracy Wingate, Dr. Jody George and Dr. Brian Clements, and the nursing staff at Grand Cove Nursing and Rehab Center and Brighton Hospice.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, LA. Deacon Garrett Caraway will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 4:00PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary to be held at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesay at 9:00AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home. Pallbearers for Mr. Boudreaux will be his six grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's association, St. John Bosco Catholic Church or to the American Legion.
