Michael Odell Fountain
September 12, 1955 - May 20, 2025

Brother Michael Odell Fountain was born to the union of the late Sammie and Leotha Fountain on September 12, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Reverend Leon Richardson at St. Luke Baptist Church, and served as a deacon. He later joined the Elm Grove Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Errol K. Domingue. He loved his church his church and was a faithful servant of Christ and a devoted member of his church until the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 20, 2025, when the Lord called him home.

On December 20, 2003, Michael married Alice Marcelle Jones, and they shared twenty-one glorious years together.

Michael was the proud father of three daughters, Tamica Tate, Rashara Fountain and Celeste Fountain. Once he married Alice, he inherited a fourth daughter, Kelli Jones.

He was a part of Elm Grove Baptist Church's Men's Chorus and The Brotherhood. He recently joined Sunday School, and he so enjoyed learning more about the Lord. As a devoted member of these ministries and this church, he displayed true dedication and commitment before his health began to fail.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Tamica Tate; Rashara Fountain and Kelli Jones (Frisco, TX); two sisters, Joyce F. McShane and Judy F. Fountain; a brother, Jackie Fountain, ten grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sammie and Leotha Fountain; a daughter, Celeste Dwan Fountain; a sister, Shirley F. Fountain; and a brother, Don Fountain.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Elm Grove Baptist Church, 8am til religious services at 10am. Interment at Southern Memorial Garden 3012, Blount Rd. Baton Rouge, La. 70807.
