Hubert John Broussard, 92, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on February 25, 1933, he lived a full and meaningful life devoted to faith, family, and hard work. Hubert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Edna Broussard, with whom he married on December 31, 1955. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Stacy Broussard and Eric Broussard; his parents, Landry Broussard and Ida Gatte Broussard; and his brother, Hillard Broussard. He is survived by his loving daughter, Janell Broussard; seven cherished grandchildren, Ryan Broussard (Meredith), Joshua Dixon (Shannon), Jared Broussard (Shannon), Kelly Broussard (Cynthia), Jehb Broussard, Cody Broussard, and Kaitlyn Broussard (Alex); and seven great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Broussard, Jackson Dixon, Emily Broussard, Caden Dixon, Isabel Broussard, Coen Mizell, and Abby McAlpin. A proud graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1951, Hubert went on to serve his country in The United States Army from 1953-1955. He later enjoyed a long career with Nelson Station/Entergy, where his dedication and work ethic earned the respect of his colleagues until his retirement. Outside of work, Hubert lived life to the fullest. He and Edna shared a love of travel, often exploring new places together or with family. He enjoyed shrimping, crabbing, and carpentry, and could always be counted on to tackle any project Edna dreamed up for their home. Hubert also gave back to his community, coaching Little League baseball for both of his sons. Above all, Hubert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose legacy of love and commitment will forever live on in the hearts of his family. A visitation for Hubert will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. E. Hixson & Sons. A rosary will be recited that evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:40 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. | |||||||||
