Dee Rutledge passed away peacefully at home in Orange, TX on December 18th 2025. She was born April 20th 1948 in Eagle Lake, TX.

She lived a life marked by love, resilience and generosity, touching the lives of so many along the way.

A devoted wife, mother, sister, Aunt, friend and most important Grandmother. She found joy in family, friends, her rottweiler - Aries, and the Dallas Cowboys.

She was reunited in heaven with her son Matthew Hashaw, her parents Gilbert McDonald and Bessie Barksdale McDonald, sisters - Linda Currie & Bessie Dickson, and her brother Percy Teal.

She was survived by her husband Calvin Rutledge, her three daughters Marcy Taylor, Melody Nicholson and Wendy Bryan; her grandchildren Kai Taylor and his wife Bryn Taylor, Layden Schwartz, Gabi Schwartz, Kalani Taylor Forehand and her husband David Forehand and Kalia Taylor.

Dee will be remembered as a true matriarch of her family. We all take comfort in knowing she is 2nd in command in Heaven.

Cremation has been entrusted to Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas.
