Imogene P. Ward, 96, of Woodville, passed away, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Home in Woodville, Texas.

A celebration of Imogene's life will be held at a later date.

Imogene was born November 4, 1929 to Hubert L. and Rena Tatum Poindexter in Colmesneil, Texas. A longtime resident of Colmesneil, she had worked as a secretary for Gulf States now Entergy. Imogene enjoyed gardening and making flower beds. She had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Colmesneil and Woodland Baptist Church in Beaumont. She had the gift of being a wonderful hostess for any church functions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Rena Poindexter; and her loving husband of 55 years, Prentice Weldon Ward.

She is survived by her son, John Ward and son-in-law, Sam Dillon of Beaumont.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
