Lonnie Cobb
Lonnie Joe Cobb, 72, of Beaumont, departed this life, Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at his home after an illness.

He was born November 1, 1936, in Bastrop, Louisiana and grew up on the Coast of Mississippi. Lonnie graduated from Gulfport High School and later from Mississippi State University as a mechanical engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed his thirty-five year career with Gulf States Utilities Company, retiring in 1994 as Manager of Production Support.

After retirement, he spent many happy days at “Double Pond” in Jasper building his cabin and enjoying the great outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Ann Cobb of Beaumont; children, William Harold Cobb and Cathy Cobb Wright both of Lumberton, Terry Ogden of Houston, and David Ogden of Beaumont; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carter Cobb; mother, Minnie Lowery; and sister, Aleph Reichardt.

His memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Dean Calcote officiating with cremation arrangements under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2009, at Broussard’s.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be to Ubi Caritas Community Clinic and Health Center (an Episcopal Health Clinic in Beaumont), 4450 Highland Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705 or to the charity of one’s choice.
