James "Jim" Earnest Walker was born on May 29, 1940 and passed away at his home on October 31, 2023, where he lived with his daughter and son in law peacefully, surrounded by family at the age of 83.

Jim moved to Conroe with his family in 1976 to run the Sparkle Ice Plant downtown. He worked various jobs until he started at Gulf States/Entergy and retired in 2002. He was a Founding member of the Crighton Theatre, one of the visionaries of the Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park, and as an expert in Texas History he was honored as an Angel of Goliad. He was so proud to work and live in Conroe, TX.

Jim is preceded in death by his son Jason Walker, brother Butch Walker, mother Vickie Walker and dad Carl Walker.

He is survived by his sister Carol Crawford of Fort Worth, his daughters, Melissa and husband Mike Roles of Conroe and Leighza Walker of Houston, his son David and wife Kate Walker of Lampasas. Bonus kids, Andrew and John Copeland and Cristy and Stacy Mitchell. Grandchildren, Justin Gaskins - Jaden, Lindsey, and Michael Roles - Clarity, Chloe, Cassidy and Rider Welch  Ridgley, Sarah and Kyle Walker. Great grandchildren, Lilliana Roles, Molly and Scarlett Gaskins and Astor Roles - Niece, Brandy Boyd and great niece, Peyton Sellers.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5 to 7pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2pm in Cashner Colonial Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family would like flowering (outside) plants to be delivered to Cashner Funeral Home at 801 Teas Rd. Conroe, TX, 77303.
