Mary "JoAnn" Cook Miller, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, at the age of 87, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She was born in Baton Rouge to Robert and Dorothy Hutchenson Cook on March 28, 1937. Mary "JoAnn" was a resident of Port Allen. She had a long career as an administrative assistant with GSU which turned into Entergy.
Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Wednesday, May 1st, from 11:00am to 12:00pm with the Rite of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge where she joins her husband of 64 years.
Mary "JoAnn" is survived by her nephew, William M. Ackoury Jr and wife Kim; niece, Rhonda L. Wilton and husband Bob; a great-niece, Brandi A. Zeagler and husband Daniel; two great-nephews, Robert G. Thomson and Christopher Thomson; two great-great nephews, Everett and Austin Zeagler; cousin, Yvonne Kelleher.
Mary "JoAnn" was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer "Bo" Joseph Miller Jr; her parents, Robert and Dorothy Hutchenson Cook; a sister, Dorothy Cook Lewis and husband Kenneth.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and extend a special thanks to all her caregivers, especially Wendy.
