Mary Ann Meinscher Daleo, 78, of Beaumont, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Harbor Hospice House, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on August 10, 1935, to Anna Katherine Meisterhans Meinscher and Julieus Meinscher. She was a graduate of French High School and a former employee of Gulf States Utilities. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her 4 children. She was devoted to her faith. She was a vacation Bible School volunteer and a Eucharistic minister. She was involved in her children s school activities, which included being PTA president. She loved cooking, the beach, playing pokeno, laughing, and spending time with family and friends. Mary Ann retired with St. Elizabeth Hospital as manager/buyer of the gift shop. Following high school, one of her lifetime achievements was when she formed a ladies card club that consisted of 7 of her closest friends. Mary Ann Daleo, Claudia Gentile, Claire Covington, Alice Galloway, Barbara Castleberry, Dolores Golson, Juanita Killen, and Pat Hoffpauir have been meeting monthly for the past 56 years. Their friendship has been a blessing to Mary Ann s family as well. She always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everyone she met. Survivors include her husband, Jake Daleo; son, Scooter Daleo III and his wife, Melanie, of Beaumont; daughters, Kathy Daleo of Kerrville; Anne Daleo Anderson and her husband, Joe, of the Woodlands; and Dianna Daleo Foreman Coe and her husband, Allen, of Kountze; brothers, J. Ted Meinscher and his wife, Marlene, of Lake Charles; Irwin Meinscher and his wife, JoAnn, of Lumberton; and Richard Meinscher of Lake Charles; and grandchildren, Laura, Kelly, and Joey Anderson, Madisun and Joey Stelly, and Anthony and Devin Coe. She is preceded in death by her grandson, James Foreman. Visitation hours will be 1:00 4:00 p.m. and a Rosary for Mrs. Daleo will be recited at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Broussard s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
