Joseph "Joe" "JoJo" Fontana, a loving brother, uncle, godfather, and friend to all, moved to his heavenly address on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He born on February 4, 1920, in Beaumont, to Barbara Fontana and Thomas Fontana, and was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.

Joe attended Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to Beaumont, Joe was employed by Gulf States Utilities as an accountant for many, many years, until retiring.

His hobbies included golf, bowling, baseball, storytelling, and building great friendships. Every life Joe touched has an incredible story of their own to tell about him. He never married but was the most loved, honored, and adored bachelor one could ever imagine.

Joe is survived by his younger sister, Barbara Louviere Fontana and her husband, Allen Louviere; three nieces, Amy Louviere Kristofek, Jeanne Louviere Roosa, and Laura Louviere McKenna; and nephew, Joe Whitman. He was also godfather to countless individuals. It seems half the people who knew him called him "Uncle JoJo". Even though he never married, he somehow developed, through his ability to form rich relationships, a larger-than-life community of family.

A gathering of Mr. Fontana's family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
