Guy "G.A." Rogers, Jr., 61, of Beaumont, died Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was born on July 21, 1959 to JoLena Modica Rogers and Guy Arlin Rogers, Sr., in Beaumont.

Survivors include his wife, Jacki Rogers, of Beaumont; son, Dylan Rogers and his wife, Ashley; sister, Debbie Porter and her husband, Buddy, of Winnie; mother, JoLena Raimer and her husband, Kenneth, of Beaumont; grandson, Isaiah Rogers, of Beaumont; niece, Jessica Whittington and her husband, JohnO, of Vidor; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Davidson, of Beaumont; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members; and his dog and faithful companion of thirteen years, Baxter.

He is preceded in death by his father, Guy Rogers, Sr.; son, Travis Rogers; his uncle who was like a brother, Sammy Modica; and other family members.

Above all, Guy loved spending time with family, and especially his two boys. The proudest moments of his life were when they were born - 2/11/88 and 6/12/95.

He had a new reason to be proud, on 1/23/2020 when his first grandchild was born.

He loved his devoted wife Jacki of 40 years. Together they raised a rat terrier named Baxter now 13 years old - little did they know how much joy this little dog would bring and how soon after becoming empty-nesters would mean even more.

He was a true enthusiast about anything he took on, at work and at home. And he took on a lot. He built/added on to the family home and had great pride in his workmanship.

He could build and do literally anything he set out to do. He played bass guitar in several bands over the years. He had a passion for his 1955 Chevy Pickup he rebuilt, and of course his dream car - his Corvette.

He earned his black belt in Taekwondo in 1988.

He enjoyed knife-making, leather-crafting, woodcarving, and everything he did was always built with painstaking precision. He also inspired others to take up his craft.

He loved hunting, fishing, boating, visiting with family and old school friends, and most of all loved the Beach.

A gathering for Mr. Rogers will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2020, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
