George Boswell
George W. Boswell, 79, of Silsbee passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008 in Beaumont. He was born April 20, 1928 in Trinity, Texas to Elmer and Gertrude Boswell. He served in the United States Navy and was a retiree of Gulf States Utilities with fifty years of service. G. W. enjoyed archery, motorcycling, and raised show and race horses for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Clarence Boswell; sister, Dorothy Thurston; and two sons, Roy Kelley and Rodger Boswell.

G. W. is survived by his wife, Beverly of Silsbee; sister, Loula Handley of Nederland; son, Drexel Boswell and wife Rose Mary of Pilot Point; daughter, Gayle Russell and husband Steve of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Julie Boswell of Kilgore; three granddaughters; Allison, Ashley, and Leslie Boswell of Kilgore; three grandsons; Levi Boswell of Pilot Point, Jeremy Russell and wife Maxine of Beaumont, and Jason Russell of Georgia; two great-granddaughters, Bailey and Destiny; and a great-grandson, Scout; several nieces and nephews; “special” family members, Chief, Annette, and Danny Ray Nelson.

Special thanks to the staff of Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth ICU and the Oncology wing, Dr. Birdwell and his nursing staff, Dr. Colgan, and Dr. Henderson for their care and concern. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2008 under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
