Patsy Jean Acker
A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was employed by Gulf States Utilities for fifteen years and was a devoted wife and mother. Patsy was a 1957 graduate of South Park High School. On August 2, 2007 she and her husband, Lucky celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lucky Acker of Bevil Oaks; daughters, Belinda Bess and her husband Ray and Cynthia Griffin and her husband Carl all of Kingwood; son, David and his wife, Dr. Betty Gingold Acker of Bryan; six grandchildren, Andrew Kuhl, Sam Griffin, Michael Griffin, Derron Griffin, Emily Acker, Sarah Acker; one great grandchild, Elise Griffin; and two brothers, Bill and Frank Grantham of Beaumont. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mayme Grantham; two sisters, Betty Pearson and June Braquet Bertrand.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, March 3, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
