Kay Ashley Kotz, 83, of Kountze died Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born on July 5, 1939, to Julia Roach Ashley and Gerald R. Ashley in Lufkin, Texas.

Kay graduated from Beaumont High School in 1957 and attended Lamar State College of Technology. Kay retired from Gulf States Utility Company where she worked in the building design department for many years. She was multi-talented and gifted artistically which was evident in her work and drawings. She was very energetic and full of life. She never met a stranger and had countless friends and family members who dearly loved her. Kay loved the outdoors, horses, dogs, music, dancing, beer, and being with people.

Survivors include her sister, Shirley Walton and husband, Ray; niece, Pam Wisener and husband, Tim, all of Beaumont; nephew, Dr. Ray Walton and wife, Mary Ann, of Fredericksburg; eleven great-nieces and nephews; fourteen great-great nieces and nephews; and cousin, John M. Ashley and his wife, Barbara, of Prairieville, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Melissa Ann Kotz.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at House of Angels in Houston, Texas, especially Sally and Kim for their loving care of Kay.

A gathering of Ms. Kotz family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
