John "Mike" Michael Powers,76, passed away Monday June 12, 2023, at his home in Watson La. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. So loved, so missed, so very dear. He was a faithful companion, stepfather, grandpa (Pops) and friend to many.

He graduated from Central High School in 1964. He had two years of college before going into the service. Mike proudly served our country in the United States Navy (1966-1969), and retired from Entergy with 42 years of service.

Mike loved to hunt, fish and watch LSU sports. He was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church and looked forward to Sunday Bible study.

He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Dee Oram; stepchildren Chris Felder (Jamie), and Summer Wells (Frank); step grandchildren Christian (Taylor), Carson (Gabe), Bradley, Berklee and Lauren; a special nephew and hunting buddy, Noah Davison; other family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Randolph and Juanita Powers, sister Donna Morvant, brother Thomas Powers and son Michael "Little Mike" Powers.

Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida BLVD., Baton Rouge, La. on Tuesday June 20, 2023, from 10am until service at 12pm, with Pastor Steven Campbell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Noah Davison, Chris Felder, Frank Wells, Tommy Campbell, Erik Lee and Dwayne Digirolamo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mike's name can be made to American Heart Association, Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.
