Donald Lee Paxton, age 80, passed away at his home, in the presence of his beloved wife and daughter, on June 21, 2023. Son of Curtis Lee and Ida Foster Paxton, Donald was born in Baton Rouge on September 20, 1942.
He was reared in Baton Rouge, a proud graduate of Istrouma High School, Class of 1960. A long time employee of Gulf States Utilities/Entergy, he was also a treasured employee of Baton Rouge City-Parish Purchasing and Reulet Electric after retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Kennedy Paxton; his daughter, Dana Calbert and husband, Kevin; and grandchildren Kirk and Kate Calbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Curtis; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, D Ray and Vera Kennedy.
He was a lifetime member of Istrouma Baptist Church. The family would like to extend thanks to devoted caregivers, Ciera Edwards and Diedre Edwards, who blessed his life and ours so much. Also, thanks to The Hospice of Baton Rouge for their impeccable, compassionate care, especially Lisa, Stacey, and Mary.
Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 2:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM, conducted by Reverend Patrick Magee and Reverend Larry Hubbard. Graveside service will be held Sunday, June 25, at 2 PM at Kennedy Cemetery, Angie, Louisiana.
