Alfred Dale Hare, 85, of Woodville passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper. A private Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.

Dale was born on June 27, 1938 to Warren & Florence Hare in Merryville, Louisiana. He served in the United States Navy as a Radioman on the U.S.S. Durant. After discharge he went to work for Gulf States Utilities and remained there until he retired.

He loved to bass fish and run trot lines, dove hunt, gardening in his yard and working with computers. He had a love for good Cajun Cuisine eating and cooking, especially gumbo. A NASCAR fan, he also loved the Dallas Cowboys and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a Deacon and Song Leader at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married on April 1, 1961 in Rosepine, Louisiana, Sue Hare of Woodville; sons Danny Warren Hare of Jasper and Steven Dale Hare & wife Michele of Jasper; daughter Kim Hinch & husband Robert of Vidor; grandchildren Kenny, Justin, Amanda, Lane, Josh, Stephanie, Courtney, and Colton; as well as numerous great grandchildren with the newest addition Oaklynn Sue Hare, who was born on March 18, 2024.
