Kenneth Raymond Tevis was called home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 27, 2022, at the age of 65, following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 15, 1957, in Kountze, Texas, to Leon and Ernestine Tevis. Kenneth grew up in the Beaumont area, graduating from French High School in 1975. He later relocated to Lumberton, Texas, where he resided for many years until his passing. He was employed for many years at Gulf States Utilities, and later Entergy Corporation.

Kenneth accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age, and sought to be a faithful follower of Him throughout his life. He loved family history, and was very proud of being a direct descendant of Noah and Nancy Tevis, the first pioneer family to settle in Beaumont. Kenneth was a wonderful story teller, and he truly enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with his relatives and friends. He also enjoyed being a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews, and he adored them, as if they were his own.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Leon Tevis; brother, Arnie Tevis; paternal grandparents, Frank and Ruth Tevis; and maternal grandparents, Ernest and Tony Whisenhant.

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Ernestine Tevis; sister, Claire Ellender, and numerous other relatives and friends, who were dearly loved by him.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, Texas, on Friday, March 11th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 10:30 a.m.
