Kamille George Kamille John "Camel" George, 85, of Lake Charles died at 10:55 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in his residence.

Mr. George was born December 8, 1923 in Lake Charles and was a life resident of Lake Charles. He attended Lake Charles High School and was a renowned football player since elementary school. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years as a first gunner mate during WWII. Mr. George worked as a lineman for Gulf States for over forty years and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and was always involved with their sporting events. He also enjoyed gardening and baseball, playing as catcher until the age of 36. He will be remembered as an avid LSU football fan, not missing a game since 1936.

Mr. George is survived by his sons, Gary George and wife Kathy of Sulphur, LA and Richard George and wife Suzanne of Lake Charles; daughter, Susan Pullig and husband David of Lake Charles; brothers, I.Z. George and Billy George and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Dorothy George, all of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Aaron George, Phillip George, Jill Foreman and husband Micah, Cory George and wife Jill, Desi Moyer, Gabriel Pullig, Joshua Pullig, and Kjersten Pullig; and great-grandchildren, Sydnei George and Ethan Moyer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy "Sully" Sullivan George; parents, Charlie and Jamille George; sisters, Emily Coyne and Annie Crawford; brothers, Fred George, Ernest George and wife Marie, Edward "Kibby" George and Jimmy George and wife Helen; and best-friend, Raymond Trouard.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Reverends Jack Myers, Mitzi George, and Kelly Vigo will officiate . Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
