Jim Wall

James "Jim" Wall, Jr., 84, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:56 AM on Monday, October 26, 2009 in his residence. Mr. Wall was born May 13, 1925 in Lake Charles, LA. He was a 1942 graduate of LaGrange Senior High and served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a meter department supervisor at Gulf States Utilities for over forty years, retiring in 1986. He also coached Little League Baseball in the Lake Charles area for over twenty-five years. Mr. Wall is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Romona Richard Wall; son, Scott Wall and wife Leeann of Carlyss; daughters, Polly Thompson and husband Bobby of Lake Charles and Ellen Hebert and husband Kenneth of Topsy; grandchildren, Kevin Wall and wife Pam, Elizabeth Hebert, Jared Hebert, and Amanda Thompson; and great-grandchild, Alex Wall. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Wall. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Lloyd Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
