Lynda Kapalski

Lynda Caballero Kapalski, 65, of Dayton died Thursday, July 3, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born September 26, 1942 in Galveston, Texas to parents: Joe and Velma Marks Caballero. Lynda was a lifelong resident of Dayton where she graduated from Dayton High School in 1960. She worked for Gulf States for over 10 years and was very instrumental in starting JAM which was the food pantry at St. Joseph’s Church.

She was also a member of St. Joseph’s The Worker Catholic Church and the Alter Guild. Lynda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being with her family and friends and supported them in every way.

Services for Lynda will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2008 at St. Joseph’s The Worker Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Velma Caballero. She is survived by her husband: James Stephen Kapalski of Dayton; her sons: Michael Kapalski and wife Josephine of Dayton, and stephen Kapalski of Houston; her daughter: Donna Puckett and husband Todd of Dayton; her grandchildren: Nicole, Courtney, and Zachary Kapalski, Kelsey Kapalski, Brianne and Rylan Puckett; her sister: JoAnn Lambright of Rockdale; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
