According to accounts, Chris was working with a GSU crew in a left basket when he came in contact with power lines, death coming instantly.

He was married to the Lynette Dupuis of Rayne about one year ago, and they had just moved into their new home in the Maurice area.

He is survived by his wife, Lynette Dupuis Petitjean; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Petitjean of Conroe; one brother Keith Petitjean of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Mike (Brenda) Istre of Luling; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Clinton J. (Hilda) Petitjean of Rayne; several aunts and uncles as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

His paternal grandfather, Clinton J. Petitjean, and his maternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Raoul Trahan, preceded him in death.

No words can express the sympathy and sincere condolences Acadian-Tribune and the community are experiencing today for Chris family, and we only hope that this love and sympathy will keep in some small way to let them know how much we care.
